Saints released Michael Thomas per Duncan; Thomas & Winston are Post-June 1 cuts

I am fine with saying that a dead man is dead. Everyone knows it, so what’s the point of tiptoeing around it?

I don’t think anyone is paying or expecting Michael Thomas to be a press secretary, giving a polished message that is both insightful and political. He is going to be raw with his messaging, and he’s going to speak his mind. People appreciate that communication rather than the normal prepackaged message that isn’t going to give you any insight into the team, or how things are on the other side of the door.

I will miss that.

He was a fine receiver, and it’s unfortunate that it is coming to an end like this.

I’m sure that once MT is officially off the team things will rebound, and every week we will perform like we did those final two weeks of this past year. Right?

At the very least at least Jeff Duncan knows where he stands.
I don't think anyone expected MT to a polished press secretary. One would have hoped that he'd have matured a little during his seven seasons in the NFL and that he's now into his 30s. You don't have to have a PR degree to express your thoughts in a respectful, non-petty, non-juvenile manner.

And before you put me in the "hater" camp, I'm not. Quite the opposite. I'm a big fan, and sad to see him go and the departure happening this way. That's what makes his attitude so disappointing.

As for calling a dead man a dead man, am I correct in assuming you mean that he was simply speaking the truth about Brees' arm strength? And if so, then he basically blamed the loss of the playoff game on Brees (do you think that was the case?). And also by extension he implied that he'd have had a better game if his QB could throw the ball further he could have taken advantage of MT's blazing speed to get behind the secondary?

But we all have our points of view and that's where I guess you were going with the "taboo" retorts. You're okay with that behavior and "will miss that." I'll miss his tenacity and football prowess on the field but not his childish attacks via social media and lack of accountability.
