Saints signed QB Nathan Peterman

I'm kind of getting the blahs about our FA class.
William Gay - good signing I believe
Peterman - no
Cedric Wilson - I really don't know
So, I’ve explained Peterson. Now a word on the others. The Saints are in a soft rebuild or reset. They want to get younger and faster and they want to get cap in order. Drafting a QB could actually help that. But if you pay attention to the free agents they are bringing in most of them are younger and are guys who could possibly be a part of the Saints of today and tomorrow. Even Chase Young gives them a bonafide talent at the edge who is only 24.

The other thing is Gay and Wilson are valuable signings who are coming here largely to play backup roles. There’s been so much focus on DL/OL but our receiving corps is depleted. So we need to add players there. In Wilson you have someone who has been relatively productive in the league who would likely be your #4 - 6 receiver. It’s hard to slam that signing when taken in that context. And he’s a value add because he has familiarity with the system and he is also an adept run-blocking

Gay is a really sold signing. Player who has shown flashes and one who has upside.

Lastly we are missing middle round picks. Do we sit back and do nothing to fill critical backup roles? No you add guys you have a vision for and who can help your team
