It certainly seems that soft rebuild is what they are doing. I think Gay in particular fits that mold and Wilson to some extent too. But the Peterman and Young moves are a bit perplexing if that is the plan. Peterson is certainly cheap but has no upside and while Young has plenty upside, I can't see him being cheap.
Someone in the front office would have to be enamored with Young to invest significant guaranteed money. I get the talent and age, but the inconsistency would be worrying.
