I've always kind of wondered about that stuff. I'm no labor law or NLRA expert, but I think that because of the collective bargaining agreement they can make agreement to release certain information based on the consent of the players. My guess is that each team would likely want a signed authorization giving them permission to release certain information that is likely standard in the NFL. The Feds don't play with HIPAA violations.
