Where is it written that we can't sign Samuel AND draft a CB, DT, MLB and a #2 or #3 Wideout? We have plenty of cap room. So why sign a guy like Florence (6 Int in last 3 years - 45 games), wholost his starting job last season and try to plug him in as a starter here?!? Personally I'd rather build the team through the draft than just go nuts in FA. To my mind, it's a more prudent, long-term approach. But if the Front Office feels like a top playmaker is what we need at a particular position, and they can attract him - that's fine by me! In the free agency: if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
As per Florence in 2007 - according to FO.com "Charting Defensive Backs 2007" analysis he ranked as 5th worst CB in the League in terms of success rate when targetted (41% - Jason David was worst with 32%) and 4th worst in terms of yards given up per pass (10.6 - again JD was the worst with an amazing 14.5 yards per pass). It's little wonder the Bolts aren't resigning him. And you'd still like to see him in our secondary would you?
