Saintman's Official Celtics @ Pelicans 3/30 Game-Day Thread!I Dont Believe in Lucky Charms and Shamrocks. I Believe in Good, Hard-playing Pelicans!!!!

First off, I want to take this time and opportunity to thank and sincerely give my debt of gratitude to Taker, Marsha, Dave, wnelson, and many other SR members who were tolerant and went easy with me when I sort of jumped the gun maybe a day too early in posting my "unofficial" Pelicans @ Pistons game-day thread for last Sunday. A game I'm happy to report back and say we won rather convincingly. I'm also happy and encouraged about our win over a tough, physical grinding Bucks squad that won the NBA Finals two years ago and have been predicted by some to make another deep playoff run this season.

With that said, our upcoming opponent is a more difficult, harder, tenacious team that finds ways to win and has developed a reputation for appearing almost unbeatable...

Almost unbeatable being the key distinction because the NBA is just the NFL in that with any given regular-season game, a team like ours who has fought, endured a lot of personnel issues, character development, late-season injuries, points where they themselves doubted their potential as players and teammates and yet survived and persevered, can beat a team like Celtics who seem all-world. I'm not saying the task ahead of our Pelicans will be easy, but this team is mentally/physically tough and fights their collective arses off for 60+ minutes or more, to say "we cant" beat Boston, or its impossible, is asinine, IMHO. This Pelicans team is only 5 wins away from reaching the 50-win plateau, think about that, New Orleans sports fans, we've only had maybe 2 teams in our entire history that reached or surpassed 50 wins. This team is looking to be maybe be the most competitive, talent-laden, depth team since the early, glory days of Chris Paul, Tyson Chandler, and David West from 2007-2010.

Let's show the rest of the NBA that upsetting teams like Boston aren't deviations from the mean, it's how hard-working, strong, dependable teams can achieve great things when they play their best and showcase teamwork as a real, legitimate strength in front of 20,000 fans in New Orleans Business District at Smoothie King Center.
