Rumor- "samuel Said To Be A "done Deal""

This is what I see happening. Loomis and company are aggressively targeting defensive needs. Obviously, there are many needs on defense, including the secondary. By aggressively pursuing Samuel, they are addressing one of their needs. They will likely target a middle tier free agent to fill another defensive need.

The draft, particularly the first 3 rounds will be utilized to grab the best available defensive players. Rounds 1 through 3 may consist of a a couple of defensive lineman and a LB. My guess is that they snag the best available linebacker with the 2nd pick.

I disagree that David will play lights out next season.

I completely agree with your past few posts, rjackson. I liked to add that adding a top teir free agent may create a domino effect this offseason brining more quality players.

Also, like one poster said before, we have been plugging mid teir free agents for years and have amounted to 2 playoff victories in 40 years. One of those victories happed to coincide with the signing of a top teir free agent, Brees. I say "let caution to the wind" and upgrade as many positions as we can even if it may cause monetary problems in the future. I WANT A SUPERBOWL WIN BEFORE I DIE.

This is the most talented team we have had in a longtime and who knows when is the next time we will be able to congregate this much talent. I say lets do this...
