I’m inclined to think the Saints would ideally like to leave this draft w/ Bowers

I'm fine if that's the plan. Hopefully Penning is ready at LT and Saldiveri (or a rookie) can step up at LG. RT is still a concern, but could be solved at #14 and maybe at #45. But, it will be interesting to see what they would do if Fashanu falls to #14. Do they take him and move Penning to RT? Do they take him and move him to RT (doesn't seem likely)? Do they pass and take Latham or Fuaga? Do they take another position and look for a RT at #45?

Some of this probably depends on how confident they are in Penning, Hurst, Ram, and Landon Young. It also probably depends on how confident they are that the new scheme will make the OL that they have look better.

Agreed and this is the information that we don't have. I think we would have been more aggressive in the OT market, if they didn't think Penning and/or Saldiveri were progressing to be starters, especially Penning. Teams don't want to go into the draft with a need, then that forces a pick for need and not BPA/need. Penning/Saldiveri/McCoy/Ruiz/Ram(?) gives them the option to draft a RT which is much easier to find and expecially find later than having to use pick 14. That frees them up to draft Bowers.
