I’m inclined to think the Saints would ideally like to leave this draft w/ Bowers

60 minutes has been around this board for a while, and has always had had useful information.

In his post he named 3 OL, 2 QB's a WR and Bowers that the team likes. That's 7 players and 2-3 of them are potentially not going to be available at 14. What that tells me is they have a cloud that is pretty deep, could that facilitate a trade back for some extra picks? If someone like Bowers isn't there...or do we just take OL because we need it.

I think if Bowers isn't there they take their top OT at #14 both because they must add an OT in this draft and that OT will probably be BPA on their board. A trade down would be interesting, but when you have a shot at an OT that you think can start for the next 10 years, you draft them unless their is an amazing talent, i.e. Bowers, on the board. And, I think that's probably how Loomis sees it.

While there is a lot of OT talent in this draft, I'm not sure how much of it will get to #45 and I'm not sure the ones that fall to #45 will be scheme fits or have 2nd round value. It would be a major risk to count on getting a scheme fit OT at #45 and could force them to reach for a 3rd or 4th round OT talent. A risk worth taking for Bowers, but I'm not sure anyone else is worth the risk.
