HB71 - Requires Louisiana Schools to display the 10 commandments passes with Bipartisan Support 82 - 19

I had a similar reaction when I first heard this. I had never before even thought that I had to get out of this state, but this made me think it. It's not going to happen with me for various reasons, but it's hard to try to convince others to stay and help bring this sate into the 21st Century when things like this happen.

Same- im 53 on the back 9 of career - one in college and one in HS. so at the very least, i have 6-10 years left here. But both my girls know that once the youngest graduates college, moms n i are OUT. Yall can follow if yall want.

My oldest is full of hope and vigor- getting masters in Ed. Her BF wants to be in government- he too all bright eyed and bushy tailed. Im like " listen i want you two, upon graduation, to travel- go see what the world has to offer in way of lifestyle etc" THEN come back and find employment and start career...but understand that the career paths you both chose are rife with compromise and hardship. And DONT LET it make you cynical or put out that youthful "fire" you both have. It will certainly try.

I just dont see a really bright future for their careers here in this state. Youngest wants to be NICU nurse- she can do that ANYWHERE.
