Nice. I wanted Simoneau GONE before FA started, but it makes sense to keep him now that we have gotten Jonathan Vilma. He can back up all three LB positions, and may even be able to challenge Shanle for the WLB spot.

Also, this could mean that Brian Simmons will be released. His $3.1 million salary is too much for a 3rd stringer, at least IMO.

Yeah I wanted him gone to, but thats because I didnt want him starting for us anymore, but with the inpending trade for Vilma, #53 will be backing him up and will be insurance incase he isnt ready to start, its a good move because we got someone who can stabilize the MLB spot and now have even better depth because we resigned Simoneau instead having Mitchell as the backup...great depth, that and the Young resigning...dont mean we wont go after a starter at his spot, but its good depth and provides a good rotation....now we just gotta find the guy who will start for us...or does that 3yr 12mill deal mean he is a starter?
