Todays Presidential "statement of the day"....

>>If you think the president of this country doesn't know what the cost of a gallon of gas is,(like him or not) then you shouldn't be writing comments on a public forum.

I listened to the comments directly and don't get any indication that he has any more of a clue what the price of gasoline is per gallon than his dad knew what a barcode scanner at the grocery store was. Sorry Andrew. You're attacking posters on this forum (including some hardcore Republicans that just don't like this Administration) because they have failed to do anything in the public interest (short term) about the price of gasoline. They're in bed with oil companies and oil shieks which you simply cannot deny. Don't forget what the price of a gallon of gas was when they took office, and don't forget specifically that Dick Cheney brought in industry insiders (including debunked and deceased Kenneth Lay of Enron) to 'craft' energy policy. Why do you think big oil executives were the ones in the secret meeting which VP Cheney still steadfastly refuses to release any information about - how to help the American consumer? Get real. People see the effects from paying > $3.00/gallon. It hurts me as much as it hurts anyone because my daily commute is over 100 miles. I fill up either 2 or 3 times a week and gas isn't really something I enjoy paying extra for or even $600-700 a month (possibly as much as $800 if it goes up to 4.00/gallon).

Having said all that, I realize that the bottom line on pricing has to do with speculator, barons and worldwide demand. At the same time, the administration has done little to help ordinary Americans with the price of fuel. It might even be said that the screwjob played on California a couple of years ago had many in the administration and their oil-soaked friends laughing behind the scenes.

You're a long time poster and usually a good one. But I'm not sure what argument you're making here. You are calling others partisan dingbats. Knowing the skill and intelligence of many on the forum, I believe that is a charge better left unsaid. Your main opponent in this debate, efil4stnias is hardly some liberal Democrat. ;)

It just gets old looking at the same administration bashing posts everytime he opens his mouth. Kin to the "I posted the WE SIGNED XXX" first on the SSF. My appologies to anyone that took the term "dingbat" to heart. It was initially just a light-hearted jab at the general posting public.
