Andrus Peat signs with the Raiders (Merged)

Much has been said about the Saints and their "great play" in the month of December. How they looked competitive against the Rams (L) and beat the Giants, Panthers, Bucs and Falcons. Well, Peat was the LT during that stint. He is gone with all hopes on......Penning. Peat, while maligned and criticized here was good. Not great but good. I don't think the Saints, outside of McCoy, have good anywhere on the line.

Call me pessimistic but I think that last December is a false hope for this year. One it was the Giants, Panthers, Bucs and Falcons and two, they had a "not bad" O-line.

I want them to win every game but 2024 is looking to be a struggle.
My thoughts... Penning arguably played his best game against the Patriots and then was benched. He obviously struggled mightily the first 5 weeks of the season, but showed some minor improvement. We are changing offensive line philosophy with our new offensive coaching staff. We might even see McCoy and Ruiz swap positions. I think on paper and based upon what we saw last season, the offensive line appears to be a frightening major weakness. We've lost Peat, Hurst, and Ramczyk and are filling those positions with unproven players and a rookie. That's a lot to digest. It may take several games or even a full season to have that line learn to play together, let alone gel. All of the projected players are talented and the new staff members are offensive line specialists. It's a very boom or bust situation. Honestly, I'm chomping at the bit to see how it's all going to play out! I think the coaches have a plan and I'm cautiously optimistic that they're going to be able to put together a decent line.
