That was my take as well. I went in expecting a bunch of crazy over the top action set pieces with a thin story to tie them together. That’s what I got, and I enjoyed it.
In fact, it actually surprised me by not doing something I expected. I was certain a particular person was involved in the plot that led to the disappearance of the lead actor, and I was surprised when they weren’t.
