I stand corrected. I guess I didn’t see him play ‘short’ in his preseason debut. But like I said, he did play smart, made good decisions, and seems to have a good grasp of the game.
I hope he makes it as our starting QB for years to come.

Would be great if both Haener and Rattler develop and the team has two promising prospects. You and I agree that odds are stacked against developmental QBs, though. Really tough position and most won’t make it long term.
Nothing really wrong with preferring a prototype - in an ideal scenario, who wouldn’t - but I think it gets overlooked just how many QBs succeed who fall below the average in height. Some observers make more of height than seems warranted.
