This is a good take, but I would argue teams are now understanding you probably need to invest in both, a top QB AND a top pass catcher to have a chance to really compete. Other positions can be cycled thru much easier in terms of cost and availability.
Not sure I agree. WRs have become more plentiful in recent drafts. A lot of money needs to be invested in pass rushers and CBs as well as solid offensive lineman. I do not see WRs as on the same scale of need and difficulty to acquire as those.
