Despite the changes tue Saints have made, the national media is not going to get behind the Saints until DA can prove that he's a good head coach. I'm rooting for him, but he still needs to prove he can win games through coaching and not player talent alone. Otherwise, he's going to get outcoached when it matters the most. His tenure as a head coach has shown that his team underperforms when going up against 500 or better teams. I think the criticism is fair. Some coaches are known good commodities. Some coaches are total unknowns. And some coaches are known to have low success rates. He's in that last group.

I agree, but I will say that he has already proven that he can win games from coaching on the defensive side. But he has likely lost some from his game management. His issues are poor game management, inability to relate to players, especially star players (this is IMO and some players say it isn't true), and the huge mistake of keeping the same offensive staff in place for two years. Hopefully he made the right hire at offensive coordinator and on the offensive staff because no matter how good of a defensive coach he is, it won't matter if the offense, particularly the running game, continues to struggle.
