The thing about this is that Red Bull instructed Checo to limp it back to the pits b/c they didn't want a safety car to threaten Max's lead.
They admitted it - and were fined €25K. There's quite a bit of chatter that this was effectively "cheating" (intentionally breaking the rules to avoid a safety car to protect the lead) and should have been penalized more harshly.
