That was 1983, and we’ve posted about it many times. I was just eight years old at the time, but I do indeed remember watching it with my dad and uncles. The ‘83 official highlight film is on YouTube and it’ll still bring a Who Dat to tears to re-live how it had to end. They’d have lost to either Dallas or Washington in the first round, plus the Mecom-and-Bum era really wasn’t sustainable — but in a way it would’ve been nice to see them make the playoffs in ‘83.
