Just curious, when you say writes the album, are you talking about writing the music? I mean, that was what I was assuming because it's well-known that TS has written or co-written every original song on all of her albums. Obviously that doesn't include covers. It's my understanding that TS is pretty involved in production and has a lot of say in what they do. Maybe that's changed over the years, idk.

I don't know either. I don't have any inside info or anything, it's just what I hear. I don't hear anything different in her music than other pop artists who are not songwriters but are produced by the same people. She is probably writing lyrics because I think they are pretty personal to her experience. Writing lyrics gets you a writing credit. The composition of the songs themselves are as basic as basic can be. The same old chord progressions we have heard for the last 30 years...engineered to be easy to listen to and familiar with massive hooky choruses.

Anyway my only point is that none of this matters. TS has managed to cultivate an incredible community around her brand. She will continue to be successful for many years, and at this level you can bet that her backing band can handily outplay the foo fighters. Her band is probably full of killer players.

She should cover something by Foo Fighters and Dave should do one of hers....that would be a great conclusion to this little feud amongst millionaires.
