Good analysis of Carr

Their actions spoke a different story. They went all in on Dc before the Raiders even let him go, officially. Then they kept the same OC that trained with Drew Brees, then taught DC4 the Drew Brees playbook. They may have tweaked it a little. But regardless, they said DC4, you're our next DB. Ill circle back to what ive been saying, I think they only looked at the stats and the probowls and the 4th Qtr comebacks, and the fact he seemed like a great teammate (the video of him doing his best Terrell Owens impresonation, but its was "thats my team" and not "QB". Regardless, that sold me as well. Then they said, we need to look no further, he's our guy. Btw, im not criticising Carr, there are many that fall short of DB. Add he'd (Carr) would probably admit that himself.
I don't see it that way. After Sean left, they took a big swing on Watson who was seen as the best available QB on the market. After they didn't get him they pivoted back to Jameis. Last year they went after Carr because he was seen as the best available QB on the market. If they would have missed on him, I have no doubt that they would have taken a swing at Cousins this year.

I don't think it has anything to do with Brees or DA/Carr relationship or anything other than trying to get the best of what was available. Whether that was a wise strategy is certainly debatable.
