Saints at Eagles - 2013 Wildcard Game

Bill is hardcore! I can't watch a game twice, haven't even watched the Super Bowl win more than once. Just can't do it.
It was a 'tongue-in-cheek' thread intended to wet our appetite for the upcoming gameday conversations that will begin the middle of next month. This is a bad time of the year for me as it pertains to the hunger pains associated with not having a favorite team to pull for in any sport. Until the NFL preseason starts, all I personally have to anticipate is the Open Championship and the PGA Tour playoffs. Hopefully there will be some good stories from the Paris games in a few weeks.

Generally I don't 'rewatch' games either. However, I do enjoy seeing the way players from the past handled their assignments as compared to their later years. In this game Terron Armstead was a rookie, and it really showed. He was getting beat on the left end often. He would eventually be one of the most dominant left tackles in the league when he wasn't injured. It was also interesting to relive the performances of Colston, Graham, Sproles, Ingram, Meachem, and early Jordan.

I actually started watching that wildcard replay mainly because I wanted to relive the way Drew ran the offense during his prime. Frankly that game wasn't his best by far. He even had two picks in the first half. But he still managed to surgically move the team for scoring drives when it was absolutely necessary. Burning the last 5 minutes off the clock for the game winning field goal was a thing of beauty, and it was typical of the kind of field general we had for a large portion of the last two decades.

Brees is a large part of what made watching Saints games fun again after the Haslett years. Winning is fun!
