News Express - The Saints Report - has a YouTube Video up today with rumors that the Vikings have an interest in trading for Lattimore. It's merely speculation at this point, but they do cite Dustin Panadero of Bleacher Report as a source of the rumor with the Saints receiving a 2025 5th Round Pick and a 2026 3rd Round Pick in a trade.
While the heated buzz of Lattimore getting traded cooled off once he showed up for Saints Mini Camp, the embers are still smoldering, as the window is still open in 2024 until the trade deadline, which is November 5th, 2024. As I've stated in previous posts in this thread, if the Saints trade Lattimore this year I would prefer it to be prior to the start of the season and be a player for player of equal value with the Saints acquiring a player in a position of need and preferably a younger player.

This video leans heavily on speculation without citing any source of rumors. It is an interesting scenario should Peterson come to the Saints and play a hybrid role in the defense mostly as a safety. Could he transition there full time and be effective?

We're in the dog days of summer with just over 2 weeks remaining before Saints training camp opens. There's not much going on with player movement right now. In the meantime, sports outlets try to find a nugget here and there and in some case manufacture news with mere speculation which serves as clickbait for their platform to those starving for information. It will start to heat back up before training camp, with some of the remaining free agents on the market signing beforehand. However, some of the veterans may not sign until just prior to the season opening day and due to guaranteed salaries, some won't sign with a team until after week 1 of the season.
