Tyrann Mathieu, one of the most electrifying players to ever touch the defensive side of the ball made his way back to his hometown in 2022, when he signed a three-year, $28.3 million contract with the Saints. Since returning home, Mathieu has been one of the brightest spots on his side of the ball for New Orleans. In his first two years with the team, Mathieu has recorded 166 combined tackles, 17 pass deflections and 7 interceptions, leading the team in consecutive seasons. At age 32, Mathieu’s consistency is still at an elite level earning Pro Football Focus player grades of 81.2 and 81.3 over the last two years. This consistency earned Mathieu a two-year extension with the team that he signed earlier in the offseason.
