TIL that Tone Loc sampled Van Halen's Jamie is Crying for Wild Thing without Van Halen's permission, more specifically, Alex Van Halen's drum line. All this time, I thought the drum line in Wild Thing sounded like something I've heard before... and I listen to Jamie is Crying frequently ... it only took me 35 years to find out.
