I'm sure Joey and Denny wanted to give him a shot like that, hah.
I'm kinda torn on this one. I don't mind him getting the win, but Nascar really shouldn't reward that sort of finish. What I would do is leave the win intact, suspend him a race for right-hooking Denny and then deny the waiver so he doesn't get into the playoffs.
I do think because the system with the win and you're in format leads to outcomes like this. Some fans like this. Others passionately hate it. I like it and endings like that don't happen more often than they do.
That out the way, I enjoyed the race with the tire strategy thrown in the mix. I hope they do more mixing in of different tire compounds to force teams to make some tough strategy decisions. It was interesting seeing Suarez take the red tires early and was very competitive for most of the race and got screwed by the late caution that cost him P6.
Bubba had a strong race and now he's above the cut line after jumping both Chastain and Buescher.
Still 3 races left. I think Bubba really needs a win because one of those guys is gonna win one of the last 3.
