Allen better not mess around with naming Rattler QB#2

I don't disagree. I think that Rattler is the future at QB. But I also think he needs time to develop. Some of that will come with practice reps but given the very few practices in season, even the #2 doesn't get many reps. A lot of Rattler's learning during the season will come in the film room and from learning from Carr by talking things over. He'll also learn from being on the sideline and seeing what adjustments are made and why. He doesn't have to be the #2 QB for him to develop.

I think he is the #2 QB but it's really not that big of a deal if he isn't listed #2. Like I said, I think it's possible that Haener would come into the game if Carr went down in game due to his extra year of NFL experience and not wanting to put that much pressure on Ratter. But, I think it's also possible that if they have a week to prepare they would start Rattler over Haener. Particularly later in the season.

But, in the end, I don't think it's that big of a deal. Rattler is 1 to 2 years away from being the full time starter unless Carr has a major, long term injury. That is if he continues to develop the way he has so far.
Agreed, except for the fact that if they had a week to prepare, they'd give JH the reps in practice and play him until he proved he wasn't up to it. Then they'd turn to SR through necessity.

NB. In the rush to crown a new QB, people seem happy to ignore that we don't see how these guys perform the majority of the time, instead focusing everything into the microcosm of limited game reps. It's like deciding if someone's guilty in a murder trial, while only reviewing 20% of the evidence.
