I agree, but how many times have we seen the hometown guy lose the match in the last couple of years? I can think of several.
Only folks that follow that creed these days are Vince and Tony Khan.

I just thought the buildup of Randy and getting the title for the 15th time would be the thing.
It's as much a thing as them always bucking up Cena breaking Flair's record and it still hasn't happened.

That said, I like Gunther winning it. He's just at his peak and he should have a good run as champ.
Hopefully. But I'm reading he was more of a tweener today. Was it just him being in front of the hometown crowd, like they booed L.A. Knight yesterday against Kaiser?
