This sounds similar enough to wonder if it's impact has reached here.
Without reading Sam Andreas' article/indictment, I did come across a Twitter (refuse to call it X) post that referenced specific popular American Twitter posters/podcasters that had received millions of $$ to post pro-Russian anti-Nato/anti-Ukraine articles and podcasts. Think it was part of the DOJ indictment.

So, yeah, it's here. This Machiavellian-type of game has been here for a while. I hate the Internet like 50% of the time.

ETA - Anddd Rail's reading comprehension was totally down. Apologies. The post I read yesterday was totally about what Sam posted. Here's a quick breakdown by Vatnik soup. It does get a little political, but given what's going on, I'm okay with that.
