So, Ya'll are Telling Me this Offense Is Built Around Taysom Hill?

Offensive and defensive lines need better depth. Underhill and the other Saints focused media all said OL depth was a big concern during camp. We've been blessed with a brilliant performance early with the core five on the offensive line, but it is clear there is nothing after that. Losing McCoy shouldn't be that kind of destruction to the offense, but it was. Defensive line... this was a bad defensive line last season. This year they lost Kpass to injury, signed Young who has so far been good, and traded for a one dimensional run focused DT in Ridgeway. However Jordan's done. He looks so slow and it is only week three. Turner and Foskey? Liabilities at best. This line boils down to Young, Bresee, and Granderson and as the game wears on you can see their legs giving out. The fact Bresee somehow made two sacks at critical moments today speaks volumes to how much heart he has. You know the big man was out of gas yet somehow got the engine revved. I got heat for saying before the season started that the Saints DL as a whole needed to be better. Unfortunately the same issues the Saints had last season on the DL reared its head again today. They just need better depth players. I don't expect an All Pro to be replaced by an All Pro, but right now the backups for the trenches really can't even be called serviceable.

So to me personally, that's where I am going if I am Loomis and Ireland. I am going crazy looking to see what can be done to try to shore up the trenches. After that I'll figure out the sexy positions, but right now the Saints have a trenches problem and if that doesn't get fixed, no amount of sexy can save them.

Number of people who predicted a Sam Darnold led Vikings would be on top of the NFC and a Justin Fields led Steelers would be on of the AFC right now: 0.

I’m not as down on the defensive line as you are but we’ll see.

I’d like to see some analysis of the Saints’ offensive production before and after McCoy went out. I didn’t think we looked good when he was in. (Edit: I wasn’t recalling correctly the timing of his injury) My initial take is the Eagles have a really good defensive front and they showed up in a big way today.

I really didn’t like the play calling from Kubiak. I also didn’t like the decision to not kick FGs when we were struggling so much on offense. This was a game to take what was there.
