I have a Maine cat. But neither me nor the cat have ever been to Maine.
Mine's not quite that large, or else that fellow holding it is a lot smaller than I am. My cat doesn't care to be picked up or to be held. Doesn't like to be in a lap.
Minding her perfereferences about the way she is being handled, she's among the most affectionate cats I've ever seen.
I've adopted using, American Forest Cat, instead of referring to them as a Maine Coon. That seems to be an emerging trend to shift that nomenclature. It's that word coon, it doesn't apply, they are cats, not a coon
