And your talking to someone who isn't really a metal fan, so enjoy the kinds you like. Metal isn't my favorite genre, but I know there are more metalheads on this forum, so was catering to you guys, just to have music conversations. You won't hear me drooling all over long haired men, that cross dress, screaming in girly high pitched notes. lol
Death and thrash metal at least have some of the elements I like in Punk Rock, they probably share some common influences. I have seen Metallica wear Misfits T-shirts and Marky Ramone plays Motorhead quite often. Always considered Motorhead to be hard rock/heavy metal band, but what do I know? I think Marky Ramone was in a metal band one time.
The growling does get over done in death metal, but at least it isn't screeching high pitch sounds. To each their own I suppose.
