US ports longshoremen’s strike (East and Gulf coasts)

Dumb question,

Can the Ports replace the strikers to keep business moving again? Sort of like what the NFL did in 1987?


yes.
but it's a dangerous job (crossing the picket line).
you usually have to sleep on site for weeks at time. and when it's over you'll never be able to work on the docks again. but there are always 'scabs' during a strike..
