Jake Haener’s snaps in the Chiefs game

I didn't hear that it was physically stopping him from throwing deep. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that keeps him out of the game but it should. And I would like to see this offense run with a more mobile QB, but I also don't think Haener is ready. If Carr is out, or injured to where he can't throw some deeper routes, then Kubiak is going to have to work some magic against the Bucs. But, that doesn't seem likely given the number of points they have scored the last few weeks even with a healthy Carr at QB.
I should have been more clear that I didn't mean Carr's specific injury, but oblique injuries for passers in general. I've read that rotational power goes from the legs, through the oblique, to the arm and finally out of the hand. A tear simply removes that power transfer from the legs to the arm. Fortunately, it sounds like it's usually only a couple of weeks healing on minor tears but could be a bit longer if it's a major tear. It sounds like he tried to throw on the sideline and it didn't work out. The MRI today should reveal the severity and give some guidance on what his status is.
