We need to develop Rattler and quickly, he's the QB that best fits what this scheme wants to be. He can throw the ball deep, escape the pocket, and make some plays w/ his legs when warranted. He's just very RAW w/ his decision making.
So what do you think is best for Rattler's development? If Carr is hurt should they start him or would it be better to let him sit the rest of the year to work on the mental part of his game?
I tend to think it would be better to let him sit and keep the pressure off of him to be the savior, but I also see some advantages in giving him live snaps since in the end the way to learn to play QB in the NFL is to play QB in the NFL. But, if he's not ready it could retard his progress.
At the same point I think Haener has a lot of the mobility that you are looking for in this scheme. He obviously doesn't have Rattler's arm, not many do, but I think he has a good arm that is plenty good enough to play in this scheme. And he has the speed/quickness to move around in the pocket and take the rushing yards when they are there. Not sure he is ready to read coverages or face the blitz, but I think this scheme does a good job in simplifying reads for young QBs.
