Of course the reason he left was for the money. The context of this portion of the discussion you posted with Keyshawn was in regards to him being "Stupid" for leaving Aaron Rodgers, and he said it was because of the contract dispute.

This player had options however, and leverage to be able to choose his destination based on the fact that the acquiring team would have to give up significant assets and would in-turn want a long term commitment from him, so he was in position to effectively choose his spot. With that in mind, it was well known and well reported that he decided he wanted the Raiders to be his destination due to his close relationship with Carr.

Perhaps you're misremembering or wasn't paying as close attention to this saga as others were, but this is 100% truth and not being made up. It was pretty much the league's worst kept secret that off-season that he was angling to go play with the Raiders and Carr.
