It’s the NFL. No one tells the truth and everything is disinformation and cliches. Him saying “I told you” is definitely something that COULD be just competitive barking. His facial expression really doesn’t seem like he’s joking or trying to fire someone up. His facial expression looks to me like someone who is being literal and angry. That’s what I thought when I saw it live and that’s what it looks like on further review. I’m fine being wrong and hope that I am.

I think you would probably be stunned sitting on a NFL sideline.

These guys are all grown men, alpha dogs their entire lives, with an extreme level of competitive juices. A player "friendly trash talking" with his position coach after a successful play that perhaps the coach didn't like as a suggestion but it worked isn't a big deal. A player and his position coach have a different sort of relationship on almost every level of the sport.

They're like brothers in battle, and in front of the whole team, they show respect, but in the position group room or in private moments like this, banter happens, especially with the younger position coaches like Janocko, who is in the same age range as Carr and Carr has excelled at his craft far beyond anything Janocko has.
