That would be the ideal scenario, right? Once given the opportunity, he takes the job and makes it impossible to sit him, and then the Saints figure out what to do with Carr in the offseason. That's honestly what I'm hoping for, that this kid is the next big thing.

The opposite would be that, with the injuries on the line too much is asked of him and he struggles to the point that it's an easy decision to go back to a healthy Carr, at best stunting his development, at worst exposing why he lasted until the 5th round.

But I'm kind of bracing myself for something in between -- flashes of talent mixed with the pitfalls of inexperience, so that there's no clear answer what to do when Carr is healthy -- that would be on brand for the Dennis Allen Saints.
