2024 Tropical Weather Thread
You know, all the guff we give -- rightly -- Facebook, THIS is what it's good for (and I'm sure also X, Insta, and TikTok). As people are able to get power and internet back on, it is a GREAT one stop place to let your people know you're OK. We didn't have that for Katrina. It was a struggle trying to reunite. I remember going to the message boards for the TV station in the first couple days trying to find anybody. Myspace and Facebook were young so there was no ONE online spot everyone at least had a page even if they don't use it much. I've seen I think everyone I was monitoring post that they are "marked safe" and able to connect with others, too, if they need help or a place to go or something.
