Nothing touches Abu when it comes to the round baitcasters. The C5500 is greatness for my swimbaits.

Abu made a giant leap into the market with the Revo but they still need to work on it. If they could make the Revo STX lighter, say like 3 ounces lighter I would take it over any reel on the market. Trimming 3 ounces off a 10 ounce reel is not easy though.

Originally when I first started at Academy, I was going to get the Shimano Symmetre (spinner), and then, I decided that we already had enough spinners at the house. It was then that I decided to make the switch to baitcast. I was told that the round baitcasters were easier to learn with, so I got the blue C5400 Ambassadeur and a cheap rod...I loved it.

Then, I started looking at the low profiles. I decided to stick with Abu because everyone I spoke to praised the brand, and I read a very good article about the new Revo series. I liked the way the black one looked and felt, so I got it with a much nicer rod. I haven't had the chance to take it fishing yet (because I was working in Disney), but I can't wait.

So, I'm not an expert on baitcasters by any means...just getting into them. I really want to start bass fishing.
