The ups and downs of fans

Some examples of what I'm talking about:

Before Gay signing:
"Come on, I'm dying here. Any positive news?"
"seriously, any news on his visit? is he still in town?"
"Awesome."
"Seems like we might get him, unless it really goes down south."
"well that's refreshing! Come on gay!"
"Let's go GAY! Do it Loomis!"
"I really do hope that we sign him. Not only because he would be at least an upgrade at nickelblack, but the 10 year-old in me just loves all of the unintentional humor with the use of his last name."
"Gay is a definite upgrade. I like what the saints are doing so far......C'mon Draft day!!!!"

After Gay signing:
"Also, IMO Gay isn't really NFL starter quality and I don't know that he'll be that much of an upgrade over Jason David - he certainly won't be able to take over from McKenzie if he's unable to return after his injury."
"I hope that Gay is an upgrade over David (how can he not be), but I have my reservations that he is a bug difference maker."
"I am not overly excited about Gay although I do see him as at least a slight improvement over David."

Technically before signing but still the same:
"Good, but not great player."
"Sorry guys. Not drinking the Kool Aid this free agent period. Not from what I have seen so far."

It's hilarious.

What do you expect?......we're going to the SB fantassy? This time not even the most loyal fan dare to say that, after seeing the uncertainty. And pretty much all the playmakers are gone, so we're back to finding marginal players to do the job of playmakers. That is the reality most fans are having problems to accept.
