my son was playing football when he was 5. he loved it until they got their helmets and they had to do bear crawls with their helmets on. it got so bad where he wanted to quit, so i compromised and took him to practice late (bear crawls were the first thing they did). so he finished out the year, but because of bear crawls, he ended his football career after the season was over.. I'm like they are 5, do they really need to be doing bear crawls with helmets on?
