Spencer Rattler’s first start was…

The concern with mobile QBs is that they get hurt. But Winston and Carr have gotten hurt the last few seasons despite not having much ability to keep the play alive, either by moving in the pocket or by taking off and running.
Winston actually got hurt using his mobility and escaping the pocket to run (when he then got horse-collared by Devin White).

Rattler was the only reason we were in this game by halftime. He had no protection, ran for 1st downs, lost his #1 guy, threw dimes when he could find an open target…. And many of his best plays got called back on penalties or the guy who caught if fumbled.

He’s the future…. The only question is when does that permanent future start.
That's overhyping him by a considerable margin. Shaheed was a big reason why we were in this game by halftime by scoring the team's first TD, cutting the margin to 17-10. And while the defense did give up 17 first half points, they also made INTs that set the offense up at the TB28 (Saints FG), TB10 (Saints TD), and NO40 (Saints punt).

I do share your sentiment though that Rattler has the goods to be the future franchise QB of the Saints.
