Maybe Jon Gruden ends up being Saints HC?

I personally would have a ton of patience, because I understand that it's not going to get fixed over night. The promise with DA was that the team was still ready to be a playoff team, that was clearly not the case and I don't trust DA to right the ship.

Yes you may hire someone and in three years and it not work and have to start over, that's just how the NFL works. Sometimes you get lucky and that young upcoming OC(Sean Payton) turns out to be a great coach. Your living in fantasy land if you think the answer is just bring in an experienced guy.

Agreed. The selling point for DA was that he would just continue what Payton started and build on it. So, fans had high expectations for what he was going to do. Hovering around .500, injuries or not, was never going to be acceptable in that context.

I think if you clean house and bring in a coach from the outside, fans will realize where the roster is and that this is a team that is rebuilding. That's going to buy a new coach some patience from the fans. And even if not, who cares? It's not about doing what the fans want in the short term. Because what we really want is to win so even if we are a bit impatient, if that coach can turn things around in a few years then the fans will be patient.
