Why are people down on rattler ?!

No that is why you find out what you have in Haener. You just don't know yet. QBs don't need to be all that in their rookie year....We don't need to see a rookie struggle to see the blitz with no protection. Let him develop. Just let them develop in practice. Haener has a year of NFL practice behind him. He is more ready to go now than it is to mail it in this season.

You still draft a QB every season. Stop trading away picks and Draft a QB every SEASON until you find someone. It doesn't matter what round they come in.

I guess it comes down to me thinking we know what Haener is and it's that he's not going to be the level of starting QB we need long term. But, you disagree and that's cool. Like I said, I don't have an issue giving Haener a start because I'm not sure how much good this is really doing Rattler at this point. But, I would like to see what he can do with 10 days to adjust and figure out his issues.

Anyway, yes you should take a QB every year until you have your franchise QB. But I don't think this is the year to take one in the 1st round if we end up drafting top 10 or top 5. If we end up in the middle or later it might be good value, but I don't see us picking that low at this point. And taking one EVERY year may be a bit much since he takes most guys into their second year to really know what they are. But if the right guy is there, sure, take him even if you have a guy you think might be the guy. If both end up being good, you can always trade the other one and likely for a more than you spent to draft him.
