Insurance is just legalized extortion. No surprise no one brought it up when they were building it because letting them build it that way gave the insurance industry a bigger paycheck once they'd done it.

Superdome and Ford Field were heavily damaged by weather. And Minnesota had a huge snowstorm that collapsed the roof of their stadium iirc. I don't remember if it was the old or new one tho.
I know a lot of stadiums have been damaged by natural disasters over the years. So maybe not specifically flooding, but close enough.
