Yes - He will be driving a full-time entry in the Nascar truck series next year. It’s basically the third tier. It’s not the Cup series (which is what it usually means when someone casually refers to a “Nascar driver”).
He started racing in 2004 and has been steadily moving into more serious series. He ran the ARCA series full time in 2021 and that’s basically one step down from the truck series.
The team he signed with is not a front-runner but if he runs well with that team, he can probably move to a better team in the series - that’s how it typically goes. But he’s 38, it’s highly unlikely that he ever gets a full-time ride in the Cup series (except possibly some back of the field team based on his ability to bring funding).
He’s been doing this a long time now. He’s a professional race car driver.
