Why are people like this?
i've never really been a church going person. I guess i don't understand how people can follow a guy like that. That speaks volumes about the people who support him.
When i was teenager , i stayed at my grandmothers house over the summer a few times, and my ihad to go to church with her and my aunt aunt and uncle. It was a Baptist church. It was one of those 'Fire and Brimstone' churches. it was more about you going to hell than it was about how to get into heaven. that really turned me off with church. flash forward 25 years later, my wife wants to start going to church with the kids. There is a baptist church a mile from the house that she picked. i was hesitant because of my expierence with baptist church. But this pastor was like a 180. all he talked about was postive stuff. peace love and acceptance. i don't think the times i've gone, that i even heard him mention hell. It was also nice that there basically was no dress code. shorts, tshirts, flip flops/sandles. he has even said that god doesn't care what you wear to church. we stopped going during Covid, and never started back. but this guy at least put a sliver of hope back into the church for me, but i have zero doubt he is in a small minority of churches who teach that way. I am not a religeous person at all, and i am more agnostic than anything. but it was good to hear this guys take on the church and christainity. i have talked to him peronally quite a few times. he said the reason he started his church was becasue of his expierences in the church system growing up and his time in ministry school (or whatever its called) and there were many things he didn't like.
This guy in the article above is just a guy who uses religeon to disguese his hate and racism, and is gonna be disappointed if there is really a god that he has to answer to, he won't be going where he thinks he is,.
