We’re close - not rebuilding
We're not close. We're not close at all. We're miles away from being close. All of our best players are from the Payton Era. Kamara, McCoy, Lattimore, Davis,
We've drafted, two or three people over the last 3 years that look promising. Bresee, Fuaga, Penning. Even Olave is questionable at this point. He's some of the best talent, but it seems like the coaching staff isn't trying to get him the ball, or he's not trying. Something is really, really off there and its hard to put my finger on it. Olave should, and would be rivaling many of the best WR's in the league if he were on an above average team. But he's not, and seems miles away from it.
That's not even getting into the coaching game planning and failure to adjust during a game, or make effective halftime adjustments.
I'm afraid to say it, but we're a snowball on the top of a big hill. Last year we were put on the ground, this year we're slowly beginning to move downhill, slowly picking up speed, and slowly getting bigger to become a massive trainwreck.
