Personally I get the impression they all know its not working out with DA, but as with Carmichael, they're not going to let him go until the end of the year. People point to Carmichael's "hot streak" to finish last season and they still fired him.
And truthfully if they fire DA now, can we really believe any of the guys on the current staff can get the job done as an interim HC to win 7-8 games (out of 9) and have a chance at the playoffs?
Rizzi's ST unit is making the most baffling decisions on returning kicks. He can't get his kick/punt returners to use their brain, but now he'll get a whole locker room to dial in?
Kubiak's offense has completely fallen apart. Neither he or anyone else on the offensive staff has shown themselves to be worthy of a shot as an interim.
Every level of the defense is getting killed. I trust those coaches to run a team as much as I'd trust Wile E. Coyote with a stick of dynamite.
I can't see this team being sorry enough to lose to Carolina, but if they do, that's the breakpoint. At minimum we'd see scapegoat firings start, things still not improve, followed by DA being let go a week after Black Monday.
I think it will be just like Carmichael. The people in charge know its over, but the personal friendships and respect they have with the coach means we fans will just have to deal with it for the rest of the season.
